The team you’ll be part of
Key Accounts is one of the key Customer Teams the UK&I. It includes a broad range of customers from large media players like Virgin Media and Sky to up and coming FTTH providers like Cityfibre and Hyperoptic. We also manage European regional operations for global B2B Players like Lumen and Verizon and address the emerging Tower Co market like Cellnex and Freshwave. Key accounts has a diverse customer base with over 30 customers and growing and that means we can and do leverage the broad range of the entire Nokia portfolio to best effect.
Key Accounts achieved orders and revenue of circa €230M in 2022 and continues to grow and win new business and new customers YoY. Nokia is looking for sales lead to own and drive key opportunities in the Fixed Access Broadband Network area. We are the front line of new customer acquisition in our region. Our stated objective is to be the #1 solution provider by market share to our target market. Therefore, for the successful candidate it not only offers an exciting opportunity to excel and exceed targets, it also offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, highly functional and successful sales team with a broad range of skills and knowledge spanning the entire Nokia portfolio and addressing the full spectrum of the telecoms market.
The role we are recruiting for is for a Key Account Manager to own and drive the sales and business development engagement with some of our key customers.
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will:
- To co-own, develop and implement a detailed and highly evolved Sales Strategy to position Nokia within the account.
- To clearly identify business potential, short, mid and long-term opportunities.
- To directly represent Nokia within the account or to customer personnel up to and including CxO level.
- To liaise effectively with your customer(s) Pre-Sales, Technical or Marketing specialists to meet customer requirements, and drive virtual teams to address the customer need.
- Develop and foster senior level contacts and achieve "trusted advisor" status within the account.
- To Marshall and lead cross-organizational deal pursuit teams to ensure delivery of clear high-quality proposals and value propositions to the customer.
- To develop new business lines across multiple departments within the account.
- To negotiate, where possible, long term supply and support agreements with the account.
- To ensure customer satisfaction through timely response to enquiries.
- To provide regular reports/information/CRM tool updates to the business concerning activities with respect to the customer and account performance.
- To ensure all company quality procedures are followed for both internal and external customers and that deviation from these are reported.
- To promote Nokia’s image within the market place and conduct business in an ethical, professional manner.
- Budget and expense management
- To ensure own administration is well controlled, completed and delivered within set timescales and to company standards.
- Travel: Role is UK based but occasional international travel may be required.
Your skills and experience
- An energetic customer focused sales professional that thrives on the front line and is driven by hunting and closing new business.
- Can-do attitude & team player with proven ability to influence others to achieve sales goals
- The ability to work as a local sales leader whilst working as a key member of the wider International Sales team.
- A networker who can maintain and develop customer contacts and relationships to build the profile and credibility of Nokia
- Expertise and experience with FTTH broadband networks is a distinct advantage
- Able to leverage the position of Nokia in the account to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Own, deliver and exceed – Orders, Sales & Margin target
- To meet and exceed customer expectation
- Will have several years or more direct experience of Account Management and Business Development in the Telecoms sector with strong proven sales experience selling telecommunication based solutions at the CxO level.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Results focused - must have a solid track record with proven ability to identify, qualify and close deals.
- A natural entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering determination to succeed.
- Excellent understanding of the end-to-end mobile/fixed carrier arena, its opportunities and challenges.
- Senior level customer relationships within key UK CSP’s is considered an advantage but not mandatory.
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to represent the Key Accounts CBT and the UK&I at EMEA board level.
