We are looking for a web developer with experience of creating interactive online activities, games and quizzes in HTML5 and JavaScript.
Working in an innovative online learning unit, you will create rich online courses in a wide variety of subjects and at levels ranging from ten-week courses for the general public to Master’s programmes.
You will work collaboratively with a diverse team of experts who design and produce new learning experiences. Your focus will be on coding sound, accessible front end. You will be able to think imaginatively about the ideas expressed by authors and academics to translate those ideas into a working product.
You will be supported by other developers in your team (each of whom have a specialism) as well as working alone to implement whole projects yourself. Your main duties will be to hand code whole courses in HTML5 following existing style guides and to create specific interactives for new or existing courses using JavaScript libraries and tools such as Adobe Animate.
You will have significant front end web developer experience and be comfortable working alongside experienced developers and designers adding input to UI/UX design, if required, in an informal collaborative environment.
This role would suit a junior to mid-level front end developer who is keen to learn and join a team where they can develop their skills. The position is fixed-term for two years in the first instance.
This role is based in Oxford. Remote working is possible, as long as are able to work on-site a minimum of two days a week.
