Responsibilities:
Weatherford have an exciting opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the team in East Leake, Loughborough. The DevOps Engineer will design and develop the release and deployment processes.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Monitor processes that make up the development lifecycle, focusing on continuous improvement in quality, efficiency and security, and suggesting and implement changes where appropriate.

Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible.

Set up the tools and the infrastructure required by both applications and development processes, liaising with IT teams where necessary.

Identify and quantify cybersecurity risks by continuously performing vulnerability assessments and risk management. Coordinate and deploy solutions to identified cybersecurity issues.

Investigate and perform root cause analysis of Incidents.

Coordinate and communicate within the team.
- Assist with the selection and deployment of appropriate CI/CD tools.

Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipelines (CI/CD Pipeline).

Mentor and guide team members.

Monitor and measure customer experience and KPIs.

Provide periodic reporting on progress to management.

Help define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.

Implement development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.

Troubleshoot and fix problems with the development processes and deployment pipeline.

Liaise with other departments to facilitate the correct interaction of the software with other software/IT systems.
- Work with personnel in other locations around the world, providing a high standard of customer support. If necessary, to provide this service, to travel to other locations around the world for short periods.

Abide by the company’s health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.

To carry out other duties as reasonably required by the Software Development Manager or their line manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years related experience.

A numerate degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Electronics, etc).

Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.

Configuration and management of SQL databases. Knowledge of other databases would be useful.

Working knowledge of a range of development lifecycle tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services.

Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.

Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools.

Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as PowerShell or Python.

Experience with Windows and Linux operating system environments.
-
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
