Main duties of the job

Our Healthcare Consulting team is seeking a dynamic and commercially savvy individual to work with us to ensure we secure places on the right commercial frameworks, partner both tactically and strategically where it makes sense to do so, ensure our strategy and methods are effective, efficient, and modern, and breathe new life into our existing Business Development Academy.

The right candidate will strike a balance between looking out at the marketplace and available opportunities, working with the senior team to qualify the right work and clients to work with, as well as driving and quality assuring our internal business development approach.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of commercial rigour and NHS values..

    • Educated to masters level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in a relevant/ specialist area (e.g. BD)
    • Project and Programme Management Professional Qualifications (or equivalent experience)
    • Training in consultancy skills (or equivalent experience)

Experience

Essential criteria
    • Significant experience of supporting leaders, leading complex change or transformation programmes and understanding and experience of improvement project and programme leadership
    • Experience of advising and supporting senior managers and leaders.
    • Comfortable operating in a fluid and evolving environment, being able to cope with ambiguity, work collaboratively in cross- functional teams and manage multi-interfaces.
    • Experience of line managing a dynamic, fast- paced team across multiple locations and a vast spectrum of work
    • Senior leadership experience in specialist area with a track record of achievement

Skills and Knowledge

    • Experience and track record in business development and income generation
    • Strategic and systems thinker with clear focus on developing sustainable solutions for the clients
    • Sound understanding of the NHS and broader health and care system landscape
    • Detailed and comprehensive knowledge of BD – e.g. commercial frameworks, tenders, bid writing, proposal writing
