Salary: £34,649. DOE – 2-year FTC
Hours: 37.5hrs Mon-Fri
Office Location: Tower Hamlets, London with expectation to travel in Bedfordshire, Luton, Newham, and Hackney regularly.

The Role:
The Community Development & Fundraising Manager is responsible for 2 key areas of work for Compass Wellbeing, 1) Community Development and 2) Fundraising for the new ELFT Charity.
Key Accountabilities:
Senior Strategy Manager and Head of Operations
Community Development:
Post holder will provide support to the Senior Strategy Manager in delivering transformation programme projects with voluntary and community sector organisations. The post holder will build and maintain a regular working relationship with voluntary and community sector organisations in a designated area. The post holder will be the main Compass Wellbeing point of contact for a group of voluntary and community organisations within the area. Reporting to the Senior Strategy Manager, the successful post holder will have effective organisational skills and be able to plan/prioritise the delivery of work. They will have strong communications skills, both orally and in writing, and can establish working relations with a range of stakeholders.
Fundraising:
East London NHS Foundation Trust have been embarking on a new era in developing its own NHS Charity to support the ongoing development of the charitable funds. The Trust is supported by Compass Wellbeing CIC in managing the operations of the new charity.
The post holder will work primarily to develop income generation through active fundraising. A key aim of the role includes operationally manage the day-to-day fundraising activities and ensure delivery of the fundraising plan set by the Charity Committee.
The role will include nurturing relations with commercial and charitable organisations to attract sponsorship and donations; and seeking out trust funds and submitting successful applications. A core part of the Fundraising Manager’s role is seeking out grant opportunities, writing and submitting well-written grant applications in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
The post holder will be accountable for building and managing relationships with individuals as well as organisations to ensure successful delivery against both activity and financial goals. This will require managing a schedule of regular appeals and fundraising events that are in line with the trust’s priorities.
The Candidate:
- Educated to degree level, Professional Fundraising Management Qualification/Prince II Practitioner
- Up to date knowledge of fundraising legislation and regulations & Charity Law
- Project & event planning experience
- Demonstratable experience of working within a community & voluntary sector/environment
- Able to produce and deliver presentations to companies/stakeholders & partners.
- Able to set up corporate partnerships, employee fundraising opportunities, Sales promotions, matched giving schemes.
- Line Management experience, with ability to recruit and manage volunteers & fundraising groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent administration and organisational skills & ability to make outbound calls.
- Capable of building and developing successful relationships and partnerships
