Job Description
To clean the kennels and excercise areas and other animal housing to a high standard acceptable to the centre. This includes but is not limited to work with cats,dogs ,small animals and livestock.
To feed and groom the animals as directed by your supervisor.
To be responsible for the exercising of the animals as directed by your supervisor .
To be responsible for keeping the animal kitchen and General areas of the centre clean and tidy at all times.
To ensure that any animals sickness or injury is reported directly to your supervisor.
To show animals to members of the public if required.
To aid in the implementation of health care plans.
To aid in the implementation of training plans.
To provide information to members and assist with meetings as part
of the adoption and rehoming process.
To provide activities and enrichment plans to all animals on site.
To assist with veterinary appointments and visits.
To assist with fundraising and event activities when requested to do so.
The ability to drive is ideal to transport animals to and from the vets ,support with homechecks and collect donations or goods to support our fundraising activities.
To attend any team and other internal meetings as requested.
To attend relevant training and personal development opportunities in order to fulfill the requirements of the post.
To adhere to all NAWT policies and procedures and assist the organisation in developing and implementing and monitoring them, including Equal opportunities and health and safety policies.
You must have Experience of caring for animals in an employment environment or relevant qualification.
You must have good communication and customer care skills.
You must have the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
You must have empathy with the aims of NAWT ,plus a genuine interest in animals and their welfare.
You must have a full driving licence and access to a car.
The successful candidate will be hard working and reliable and be able to drive.
Have a cheerful ,confident and friendly approach, with the ability to work on their own or as part of a team. You will demonstrate the flexibility and empathy required when working with animals and a confident ,professional and courteous approach to members of the public .
You will show a commitment to the aims of NAWT and possess a willingness and ability to learn and follow instructions. A uniform will be provided and must be worn during work hours.
