Research Scientist I (NGS)

YouSeq is a new biotechnology start-up. We make molecular testing kits that are used in hospitals and labs around the world to help fight COVID19, cancer and other diseases.
We are looking for an ambitious scientist to grab an opportunity to make a name for themselves. The successful candidate will, in time and after training, have the opportunity to lead their own projects to research and develop new products.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD or 2-3 years of laboratory experience from elsewhere. They will have experience of molecular biology techniques including NGS and qPCR. They will have strong IT skills and experience of using in silico tools as well as wet lab experience. They will be multi-skilled and happy to turn their hand to new challenges. They will be unintimidated by new technology and excited to learn skills associated with it.
The role will be varied and dynamic but will include:
· Wet lab product research and development
· Writing Standard operating procedures
· Manufacture of products
· Working within ISO13485 Quality System
· Customer technical support
· Quality systems management and recording keeping
