Yard Operative – King George Dock – Hull
Perm/Full Time
This role is working within Building Distribution who are part of the STARK Group. You'll be working as a Yard Operative at the King George Dock, Hull Site. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. This is a busy role working Monday to Thursday 8am till 4pm, Friday 8am till 3pm. There is occasionally overtime available.
What will I be doing in the role?
Our Yard Operators are really important to our success and a critical part of our customer’s positive experience with us. To support our customers effectively you will;
- Pick and load vehicles accurately and efficiently
- Some manual handling required at times
- Maintain and observe Health & Safety and housekeeping standards at all times
- Ensure all routine checks are completed accurately within the designated timeframe
- Achieve and contribute to Health and Safety targets
- Contribute to overall customer service and satisfaction
- Commit to learning and developing within the role
There are some specific skills and experience we are looking for from suitable candidates;
- Experience of driving Forklift trucks would be preferable but not essential
- Experience handling different size loads and splitting loads – side loading would be ideal
- Positive attitude within the working environment
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a team environment
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Good literacy and numeracy skills and PC literate
- A good practical understanding of Health and Safety
