The Opportunity:
We are looking for a motivated and organised researcher to assist on the ‘Crossing the Line’ research project, investigating interdisciplinary learning and teaching at Edinburgh Futures Institute. This will include data collection and analysis and developing an online resource for students and educators.
Funded by the Principal’s Teaching Award Scheme at the University of Edinburgh, Crossing the Line will provide an insight into the holistic experience of learners and teachers on a wide range of courses, as they come together to develop skills in interdisciplinary collaboration. This project will lead to the creation of a digital toolkit for interdisciplinary education. The successful candidate will conduct original research, produce material for publication and dissemination, and work as a member of an interdisciplinary research team.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in interdisciplinary or challenge-based education.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a variety of groups including students and co-researchers.
- Experience of working with students on interdisciplinary courses and/or projects.
- Proven skills in planning, organisation, time management, prioritisation of work and working without supervision.
- Ability and confidence to use initiative and independent judgement.
