Job Description

Salary: £21,189 – 21,968 + 20% unsocial work allowance for shift work

Hours: 36:66 per week

Based: Sir Robert Peacock House, Vulcan St, Oldham, OL1 4LA

Role Overview:

Working within the Council’s Control Room you will be involved in a range of functions including CCTV monitoring, taking calls to the control room, alarm monitoring and liaising with other partner organisations including the Police.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the Council’s CCTV network and actively deal with incidents and deploy resources where necessary.
  • Proactively deal with alarm activations and direct resources to site
  • Communicate with members of the public, colleagues and other agencies over airwave or telephone.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • Be the holder of, or working towards a SIA CCTV Operator Licence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work as part of team
