Cineworld Barnsley is a newly built Complexity 3 cinema boasting 13 screens with an IMAX, 4DX , Screen X and Starbucks, located on the Glassworks development in Barnsley's Town Center. The management team consists of a General Manager, 2 Cinema Managers, a Starbucks Store Manager, 5 Team Leaders and 3 Starbucks Store Supervisors.


Due to the fast paced and challenging nature of the cinema, this role is perfectly suited to an existing Store Manager or an experienced Shift Supervisor who is looking to progress within Starbucks. The ideal candidate will be fully available 7 days a week and motivated to achieve.


The Starbucks Store Manager contributes to the success of Starbucks by leading a team of Shift Supervisors and Baristas to create and maintain the Starbucks Experience for our customers. They are also responsible for acting in accordance within and as an ambassador of Starbucks guiding principles, culture and values whilst embracing the coffee culture and is regularly required to exercise initiative in managing the overall operation of the store. In particular, a majority of time is spent managing and coaching the store team, making people decision such as development and scheduling, ensuring customer satisfaction and product quality, managing the store’s financial performance and managing the health and safety and security within the store.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Leadership

Sets goals for the store team, developing organisational capability and modelling how we work together.

Displays a ‘customer comes first’ attitude by role-modelling legendary service, training and support the Starbucks team to enable them to be accountable for delivering legendary customer service.

Plans, identifies, communicates and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to ensure a smooth flow of operations and allow consistent delivery of the Starbucks Experience.

Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks. Demonstrates a calm exterior presence during high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to maintain operational excellence and to set an example for the store team.

Drives the implementation of Starbucks programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet Starbucks operational and organisational objectives.

Provides coaching and direction to the store team to take action and to achieve operational goals. Constantly reviews store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching and direction to the store team to achieve operational goals.


Planning and Execution

Utilises existing tools to identify and prioritise communications and regularly uses discretion to filter communications to the store team. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective store operations.

Constantly manages store staffing levels to ensure team development whilst maintaining store operational requirements.

Cascades rollouts to the store team to support execution of Starbucks regional and company initiatives to achieve both operational excellence and business results.


Finance

Regularly utilises management information tools and analyses financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance.

Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the store.

Ensures the adherence to applicable employment laws for the store team.

Monitors all cash handling to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Regularly uses discretion in accessing internal contacts to support store operations and to execute Starbucks district and regional initiatives.

Solicits customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the community in which the store operates.

Contributes towards store profitability by seeking opportunities to increase sales and control costs.


People

Challenges and inspires store team to achieve business results, encourages participation from store team in developing goals and plans.

Develops and maintains positive relationships with store team by understanding and addressing individual motivation needs and concerns.

Actively manages store teams by regularly providing feedback and setting challenging goals to improve team performance. Manages ongoing team performance using performance management tools so support Starbucks organisational objectives.

Recognises and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organisational tools and programs as well as finding new creative and impactful methods of recognition.

Utilises and demonstrates effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful store team resulting in an environment where all are valued and respected.
