This post is 6 month fixed term post to cover an average 48 hours per week. This includes the elective and emergency duties in a shift system roster.

The Junior Clinical Fellow is expected to work within a team supported by a dedicated senior workforce which includes registrars, SAS and consultant grades. The post holder will be based within the Directorate of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The post holder will be responsible to the supervisory consultant. Exceptionally, it may be necessary to undertake additional duties in emergencies and in unforeseen circumstances.
All candidates must have completed their foundation training and have previous experience working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

We deliver over 6,000 babies and carry around 1500 gynaecological procedures each year, making us a specialist provider of health services for women, babies and their families in the North West Sector of Manchester and beyond.
Clinical duties equate to those of the GPST grades. Obstetric work would include dedicated labour ward sessions, Obstetric Triage, attendance at ante-natal clinics, postnatal ward cover, assistant at Caesarean sections (elective and emergency). Gynaecological work includes on calls, covering the Early Pregnancy Unit, ward cover, attending clinics and assisting in theatre.
Administrative duties would include writing appropriate discharge letters and results reviews.
