About us

IOE is the UCL Faculty of Education and Society. Founded in 1902, IOE has been shaping policy and helping government, organisations and individuals navigate a changing society for the last 120 years. We embrace collaboration and excellence to create a future that is inclusive and just, and have been ranked number one for education every year since 2014 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager who has knowledge of current issues, policy and good practice in relation to gender equality in higher education, to support the IOE’s Athena SWAN Silver level submission. You will work closely with the faculty’s Pro-Director Academic Development, Athena SWAN Chair, Executive Officer and Athena Swan Self-assessment Team (SAT) members.

Working with the groups, you will be responsible for project managing the submission and five-year action plan, by May 2024, including the production of a draft submission by November 2023, for internal review. Duties include leading and co-ordinating project delivery utilising a participatory and inclusive approach, ensuring there is effective communication throughout the process. The Athena Swan SAT Chair is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the IOE’s Athena SWAN strategy and you will work in a project management capacity to support the delivery of that.

You will need to be well organised, have strong analytical abilities, and be able to summarise and deliver complicated information to a variety of audiences. You will also have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

This post is also available on a secondment basis for internal UCL applicants
