Description of role, purpose and key responsibilities
The People Consulting team operate to empower leaders to both manage the talent of Investec effectively and look after the Investec experience for our people throughout their entire career journey. The team lead on resource planning and management, contracting, mobility, succession, culture work and career development. We have a continuous focus on developing self-sustaining leader-led processes.
We are a trusted specialist group of People Consultants that originate change through thought leadership across the Wealth business. We understand the complexities of our businesses and the importance of our culture, whilst remaining commercial and relevant in our work.

We work closely with the P&O Lead for Wealth and help to implement the business strategy through apeople and organisational perspective. What are we looking for in you?
- Be a professional who can apply generalist knowledge and experience with confidence to promote exceptional performance
- You will be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in the detail as needed.
- Strong relationship skills and comfortable working in an environment with tight deadlines and imperfect information (working in the grey)
- Be an active learner, naturally inquisitive and bringing thought leadership, market knowledge, and external insight
- Ideally have experience working in a transitional M&A environment where you have planned and executed key communication and engagement initiatives e.g. temp checks
- Experience of Integration planning, ensuring retention of employees and combining organisations and culture will play a key part of this role
- Experience of managing multi-disciplined transformation projects would be an advantage
- You will have an understanding of HR transformation, HR strategy, talent management, change management, organisational design and target operating models.
- You will be familiar with high performing cultures and be a strategic thinker who is able to see the entire system and make recommendations accordingly.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment by understanding when you lead and when to follow
- Building and maintaining strong relationships is critical to this role, managing various stakeholder views and finding ways to seek consensus and move towards action
- Ideally have coaching experience
- Championing the candidate and employee voice and not being afraid to be heard
