We have served the global diagnostics industry for over 50 years and due to our continued growth, we are seeking a QC Scientist to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our site in Crumlin.
Role Overview:
As a QC Scientist you will report into a QC Team Leader and perform incoming, in-process and final quality control testing across the BBI product range. QC Scientists ensure that all QC tests/activities under their job description are carried out on time and in line with set specifications, customer requirements, global/site procedures, industry standards and regulations as required.
Role Requirements
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Carry out incoming, in-process and final testing to support manufacturing and R&D activities using calibrated equipment and in accordance with QC Procedures.
- Ensure all documentation is completed with a “right first time” attitude and following ALCOA principles.
- Raise any out of specification, out of trend results and any quality issues to your line manager in a timely manner.
- Record and investigate out of specification and out of trend results.
- Manage stability trials and perform testing at scheduled intervals, generate stability reports and maintain stability spreadsheets.
- Manage QC inventory.
- Carry out quality monitoring events for the wider company.
- Initiate and complete required changes to QC documentation in accordance with change control procedures.
- Support new product development and product redevelopment.
- Act as key customer contact for specific products and represent QC.
- Participate in quality improvement opportunities within QC and support initiatives undertaken by other departments.
- Support the QC Team Leaders with continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain and improve laboratory 5S.
- Ensure all customer communications are managed promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all activities comply with Health and Safety legislation and BBI policies.
