Job Description

Head of Sales – Tech Start-Up - SaaS

Type: Permanent

Hours: 0900-1700 Monday – Friday.

Location: Home based with occasional office attendance

Department: Sales and Marketing

Reports to: CEO

About Aevus -

Aevus is an exciting new software development company. Born out of Worldspan Ltd as a tech spin-off, we benefit from and utilise more than 50 years of their experience as we begin to forge our own path.

With a carefully selected team of highly talented developers, data scientists, and digital experts, we create market-leading digital products that solve real-life business problems. Our expertise in events, membership management, and community-based platforms has already led us to develop two world-class products: Virt-Us Live and Communit-USsLive.

We have recently accepted an investment proposal from Development Bank of Wales, a Welsh development bank that provides financial support for Welsh businesses and owned by the Welsh Government. This, alongside internal investment from the groups parent company, supports our high growth strategy.

Role Description -

We’re looking for a talented and highly motivated person to join our team as our first dedicated Head of Sales. This is your chance to join a high growth tech start-up on the ground floor and shape the department. Like any true start-up, no two weeks will be the same and a general interest in mucking in and just getting the job done is both crucial and essential.

Reporting directly to CEO you will be part of the management/founding team and get actively involved in the strategic decisions. The role will potentially grow into VP Sales, with a global sales reach.

The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running once appointed, creating campaigns, identifying leads and initiating calls with potential clients. Initially, they will be responsible for demonstrating the software solutions, creating proposals and completing the deals. A very hands-on role initially. As we grow, we'll need to recruit additional resources to manage accounts and continue our growth.

There will be some international travel involved, including exhibition attendance and key client visits. We expect there to be several visits to the US and Europe per year. Advanced notice of dates required will be provided where-ever possible.

Scope of Responsibilities -

· Define best practices, programs, standards, and processes, including go to market, revenue growth, feature optimisation, territory & account plans, prospecting & self-generated lead creation, and pipeline & opportunity management.

· Build relationships with decision makers and key influencers in relevant customer organisations.

· Act as a role model and cultural ambassador to ensure a great working environment.

Relevant requirements -

· At least 3 years’ experience working in a senior sales role, ideally in a B2B SaaS-based software setting.

· Have great commercial awareness and ability to learn about customers quickly.

· Be very good at communicating over the phone, email, and other channels.

· Self-starter with a proven sales track record in solution sales

· Target orientated with strong negotiation, upsell, cross-sell and closing skills.

· The ability to develop and execute an effective new business sales strategy

· A history of using data to improve conversion rates.

· High level of computer proficiency & experience

· Team player, with a willingness to support the team.

Benefits

What you can expect from us:

· A salary range of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum

· 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

· An additional day off for your birthday

· Two additional volunteering days per year

· A remote first, hybrid-working policy with at least four days per week working remotely.

· Study support for additional qualifications, courses, and accreditations

· Company social events

· Excellent company culture

· Very low staff turnover

· Opportunities to up skill and grow with the business.

· Forward thinking business

We're looking for enthusiastic, mission-driven people who fit our values and are passionate about what we do. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't exactly match the job description.
