This is a great opportunity to join Santander Retail Compliance Advisory team. The role holder will have the ability to interpret and articulate regulation and conduct matters in a business context, delivering relevant information in a way that is simple and easy to understand. The main responsibilities are in relation to financial promotions and ensuring the regulatory compliance of our advertising and marketing activity.

Financial Promotions services include challenge, guidance, and interpretation of relevant rules, providing advice and approval of promotional material to help the business areas deliver their objectives in line with regulatory expectations and with adherence to relevant policies and frameworks. Financial Promotions also supports agile teams delivering new propositions and targeted customer communications. The team also get involved in any projects or initiatives that have a communications element to them.

The difference you’ll make.

  • Providing robust financial promotions approvals, ensuring that Santander promotions are compliant with regulation and advertising codes and practices.
  • Building and developing relationships with key stakeholders within the Bank, building credibility for the function and enhancing the brand.
  • Providing good knowledge and support to campaigns, projects and workstreams throughout their lifecycle, supporting the delivery of campaigns, project goals and benefits.
  • Ensuring appropriate governance and regulatory requirements are followed for approval of proposals, documents, promotions, and communications


What you’ll bring

  • Ability to critical analyse/evaluate issues effectively, whilst demonstrating good interpersonal, organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of the financial services industry & the UK regulatory framework with an emphasis on financial promotion rules.

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Good understanding Santander’s strategy and initiatives.
  • Able to apply commerciality and judgement from a regulatory perspective to advertising and marketing material.

What else you need to know

  • This is a 12 month fixed term contract based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working, partly in the office and working from home.
