The role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will provide specialist mechanical support for all aspects of work undertaken by the estates infrastructure team at HMNB Clyde.
Day to day, you’ll assist the Senior Mechanical Engineer in maximising the utilisation of all the section’s resource
- Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements.
- Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the mechanical maintenance area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
- Identify, analyse, investigate, diagnose, and generate solutions to problems for any mechanical issues on site.
- Investigate, plan, progress and manage a variety of mechanical based projects across the site.
Candidates will need to be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
This role is based on site at Faslane, Helensburgh with agile working.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer
- Mechanical systems and equipment. (Extensive Building services knowledge )
- Safe Systems of Work.
- Maintenance management.
- COSHH.
- Risk assessments.
- Steam raising plant knowledge would be advantageous
Qualifications for the Delivery Coordinator (Afloat),
- HNC in Relevant Engineering Discipline or Equivalent
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level.
