Job Description

We are currently looking for an Assistant Cost Accountant to provide permanent support to our Service Charges team.

This is a fantastic time to join us on our transformation journey to provide a truly modern finance function and help us build a better future in affordable homes, services, and communities.

We will be implementing our new finance system, and this exciting new role is to support our mission to provide the highest quality, accurate and accountable financial statements to customers in respect of service charges.

You will work closely with wider finance team and will support with interrogating the ledger transactions to provide detailed financial accounting information related to service charge costs to the Service Charge team in alignment with service charge policy and apportionment structures.

Some of the things we are looking for:

  • Qualified to AAT Level 2 or equivalent

  • Experience of interpreting information, carrying out research, analysing complex data, appraising performance, and managing risk

  • Experience of providing data and information to challenging deadlines

  • Experience of providing an excellent customer driven service

  • Excellent ICT skills (Word, Excel, Cloud technologies)

  • Have good problem solving and decision-making skills

  • At least one years’ experience in service charges or accounting in a large and complex organisation with substantial budgets is considered desirable

While this role is home based, you should have the ability to travel to Group offices and other locations for meetings as required. Our Group offices are located at Birmingham Business Park, Solihull and Central Park, Worcester.
