We are hiring a Financial Controller [part- time, 14-21 hours per week]. The role will report to the Managing Director and is a key role within the business.
So, what is a Financial Controller at Blue Array?
As a Financial Controller, you'll lead the finance function and provide invaluable advice to the management teams. This key role will be accountable for taking ownership of the finance function and associated accounting responsibilities. You'll oversee business planning and budgeting, ensuring effective allocation of resources and driving value for money across our Delivery Teams. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in monitoring monthly expenditures and reviewing expenditure accruals/deferrals. By training budget holders, you'll enhance financial management practices and ensure the accuracy of our monthly management accounts.
Your expertise will help us optimise our operations and make informed decisions that align with our mission.
- To lead the company's financial and management accounting, reporting, and control activities.
- Oversee all accounting functions in the business – Purchase ledger, sale ledger, bad debt, and invoice processing.
- Producing and managing a set of management accounts – P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, etc
- Managing an additional person within the finance team - 1-2-1's, appraisals, objective setting, and coaching
- Set up and create robust reporting systems and processes with live daily, weekly, and monthly financial visibility.
- Controlling all financial elements of the organisation, such as month-end reporting, year-end financial reporting, and management accounts
- Lead and participate in all company financial operations, including reporting, forecasting, invoicing, cash management, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Reconciliations, prepare reconciliations, and review reconciliations by the Assistant Management Accountant.
- Gross margin management, gross margin variance analysis, financially managing sales orders, and preparing a set of financial reports accordingly
- Managing annual accounts and all audits with internal stakeholders
Key candidate requirements:
- Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills - ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, 6+ years post qualification experience.
- Post-qualified experience in a financial accounting, management, or controller role
- Experience working in a senior finance role with Strong leadership characteristics
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the organisation
- Proven track record of delivering process improvements projects and delivering savings
- The ability to see the bigger picture as well as get stuck into the detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience within a consumer-driven, fast-paced environment
- Be passionate about driving and influencing the value that Finance can contribute within an organisation
- Knowledge and experience using financial packages, such as Quickbooks Online, Zoho & Seedlegals is desirable.
- Confident in taking ownership of the role, working autonomously
