We are the public body that looks after England’s historic environment. We champion historic places, helping people understand, value and care for them.

Historic England have an exciting opportunity for you to become our Content Officer. We need you to join us and help us inspire target audiences with engaging and accessible digital content.

You will be working closely with colleagues from across the Public Engagement Group to ensure that audiences have the tools, knowledge and inspiration they need to champion and look after England’s spectacular historic environment.

Location: Flexible on location - we offer hybrid working where you are based in one of our offices and at home.

Salary: £28,856 - £35,931 dependant on location and experience. National £28,856 - £30,983, Greater London £31,920 - £34,273, inner London £33,463 - £35,931

What you will be doing:

In this key role you will assist the Digital Communities Manager in the delivery of strategic plans for Content, incorporating digital communities across owned, earned and paid online channels, in order to increase reach and influence and achieve organisation wide objectives as part of the wider Communications and Public Engagement Group Strategy.

You will create and deliver inspiring content and assist the development of an audience-led approach to public engagement across the organisation

Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the Public Engagement Group to help plan, create deliver and monitor digital content across Historic England’s communications channels for integrated campaigns, projects and programmes

You will take a lead in creating and scheduling digital advertising and deliver reports on performance

We need you to assist the development of new and diverse online communities – of interest, action, place, practice or circumstance – increasing reach through the use of existing and new channels

Your have the opportunity to liaise with agencies, creative suppliers, contractors and other internal stakeholders to help deliver content in a timely and efficient manner and ensure the quality and brand compliance of creative and content

Collaborate with the Marketing Insights Analyst to produce regular reports on digital activity and contribute to reporting to management.

Work with colleagues across the Public Engagement Group to create and join up effective customer journeys into and out of our channels and drive relevant traffic into our website.

Monitor team inboxes and provide assistance with enquiries, coordinate incoming briefs and monitor progress against workflows.
