Job Description

KeyTime Job Title: Play Worker (General Staff)

About KeyTime

KeyTime is an independent local business operating out of Covingham Park Primary School. We run childcare sessions in the morning and after school exclusively for the students attending the school. KeyTime started in 2002 and has served the community ever since. Usually, each childcare session is fully booked with up to 30 children and 5 staff. We continue to operate following government guidelines to ensure the safekeeping of children. Responsibilities

- Child care preparation tasks such as:

- Planning daily activities in advance of the weeks ahead

- Set up tables and chairs

- Lay out daily activity resources and toys

- Collecting children from designated collection area and escorting them safely to KeyTime operation area (both are within the school)

- Food preparation of small snacks

- Facilitating play time and activities with children such as arts and crafts

- Ensured children are signed children in/out of KeyTime childcare responsibilities with parents/guardians

- At the end of each session clearing the premises for hand over back to the school

Requirements

- You must pass a DBS check in order to work at KeyTime

- NVQ Level 2 or above in childcare (or willing to train towards this)

- Planning to achieve Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) qualification

- Able to commit 10-16 hours a week during term time only

- Self-motivated and proactive at completing tasks using own initiative

- Punctual and committed to the safeguarding of children

- Friendly, patient and good demeanour when interacting with children, parents/guardians and other staff

- Strong ability to work with others in a team

- Well-spoken with good level of proficiency in English

- Willing to participate in regular training exercises (First Aid/Food Hygiene/etc.)

- Previous work experience in childcare is advantageous

- Should be able to provide references from previous positions
