About The Role
We are seeking high-quality, experienced and capable security officers for a retail store in Oldham, Greater Manchester - with start dates expected IMMEDIATELY for the right candidate. THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION WORKING 9 HOUR SHIFTS - 6 DAYS PER WEEK. Successful applicants must be confident in deterring; apprehending; and detaining shoplifters. Applicants should display a positive attitude, be confident managing conflict in a professional manner and exercising powers of arrest in relation to retail crime. Experience in a similar role is desirable.
Essential Criteria
> A valid, in-date and verifiable SIA Security Guarding, Door Supervisor or Close Protection License
> Right to work documents
> A clear DBS certificate (we can apply for this on your behalf)
> Excellent timekeeping

> Listening skills with an ability to act on instruction from client management teams

> Emotional intelligence
> Situational awareness
> An ability to write security related reports and statements
> Proficient in writing witness statements (although training can be provided)
> Smart and presentable appearance
Desirable Criteria
> Own transport
> Knowledge of relevant legislation including common law powers (where preventing a breach of the peace); section 3 Criminal Law Act 1967; and section 24A PACE 1984 (where arresting shoplifters).
> Previous experience within the security industry and apprehending shoplifters
> Commercial awareness
> Ability to interact and engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds
> Flexibility
