Job Description
JBT Haulage & Transport are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor for the late shift working at our Customer RDC in Sheppey.
As a Transport Supervisor you will lead and coordinate a team of drivers and deliver best in class customer service, measured against business and customer KPI's for safety, compliance, service and cost. You will need to be an active, engaged and collaborative member of the Transport management team.
Working as a Transport Supervisor, duties will include, but not limited to:
· Supporting the Day Transport Supervisor reporting to the TransportManager in delivering Health and Safety, Environmental and Operator's License compliance.
· Manage the allocation of work on a daily basis, controlling drivers, vehicles and trailers and ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are met.
· Be the subject matter expert for all things relating to the transport contract operation, highlighting potential efficiencies within.
· Maintain appropriate daily, weekly and monthly reporting mechanisms to monitor, control and improve performance.
· Provide weekly, daily and monthly performance reports and maintain the visual management boards for the team.
· Efficiently manage all drivers including, but not limited to, cost effectiveness, control of expenditure, service excellence including POD management.
· Champion a 'customer first' approach. Understand and appreciate our customer requirements and quality standards.
Transport Supervisor Role requirements:
Essential
· Experience of working in a busy transport/distribution environment.
· Demonstrable experience of delivering excellent Customer Service levels.
· Thorough understanding of fleet/transport compliance and legislation.
· Line management experience.
· Proficient IT skills.
Desirable
· Operator Licence Awareness Training.
· CPC in National Road Haulage preferable but not essential.
· Previous experience of contract management in a logistics environment.
· H&S qualification (IOSH).
· Experience of using Excel, Word to include Tachomaster.
· L.G.V. Class1 Licence preferable
· Sunday to Thursday (18.00-03.00hrs). Must be flexible for Customer peak periods.

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
