Job Description
We are a busy Arb Approved Tree Surgery and Consultancy business working in the commercial and domestic sectors, established in 1986 and under new management since 2020 when the founding Director retired and handed over the reigns. Our regular clients include housing developers, pub & restaurant chains and schools, in addition to our repeat and one-off domestic customers.
We are about to embark on a project for a client producing Tree Condition Surveys using QTRA methodology at upwards of 1000 sites across the UK, this will be a phased project over 3-5 years and starting locally.
In addition, we have a steady stream of Tree Condition Surveys for Schools and Colleges, Subsidence investigations for Insurers, Mortgage Surveys and occasional BS5837 Surveys for development sites.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Arboricultural Surveyor to join our team, we would be open to a newly qualified surveyor looking to gain experience or an experienced Consultant.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake arboricultural surveys using the principles of Visual Tree Assessment and specify the necessary work on individual or groups of trees in accordance with BS3998:2010
- Produce Tree Condition Reports using QTRA methodology (training provided if required)
- Conduct Mortgage / Insurance level surveys and reports
- Carry out Development surveys and produce Arb Impact Assessments, Tree Constraints Plans, Tree Protection Plans and Arb Method Statements (training provided if required)
- Help to grow the consultancy side of the business by identifying and liaising with new customers and providing content for social media campaigns.
Person Specification (Essential)
- A full driving licence and flexibility regarding timing and location
- Hold a recognised arboricultural qualification (not including NPTC certificates) at Level 3 or above
- Intermediate Tree Inspection (or equivalent)
- Familiar with BS3998 and BS5837 standards
Person Specification (Desirable)
- QTRA Licensed user
- LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection (PTI)
- CSCS card holder
- Experience with CAD and GIS software
Salary and Benefits
- Up to £42,000 per annum, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
- Flexibility - full-time, part-time, flexi considered

We are happy to invest in our staff to help them achieve goals, you will be provided with a work uniform and all necessary PPE, laptop/tablet, equipment and ongoing training and development.
We will also conduct a DBS check for our work at schools and care homes. A full Driving Licence is essential as extensive local and national travel will be required, we will provide use of a company vehicle or pay mileage expenses (to be agreed).
