La Latteria is a fast growing company active in the production of Italian cheeses in the heart of London. We produce fresh every day, from our production site in Park Royal - London (NW10).
The Candidate
We are currently looking for a young, enthusiastic and versatile person willing to join our production team and willing to grow with the business. In terms of experience, we do not require any previous experience, but rather we are interested in candidates who can show and prove a strong interest in craftsmanship and willing to put the time and effort to learn a very valuable job. We believe in investing in people, in terms of training, and plenty of professional growth opportunities will be available to the right candidate who demonstrates commitment and desire to grow.
The individual in this role will get excellent, hand-on experience with making cheese as well as gain a clear understanding of what it takes to run a small-scale food.
The Position
The successful applicant will start with more basic tasks and will side our experienced cheesemaker. Gradually, with learning and experience, he/she will gain more responsibilities and take ownership of full part of the process. Primary responsibilities include:
- Receipt and stockage of milk
- Assisting the production team with planning the dairy production to meet the constantly growing demand and work alongside the rest of the team in the daily production of all the whole range of our cheeses
- Monitoring of products to ensure consistent high quality and compliance with our HACCP
- Packaging and liaising with the dispatch team
- Overseeing & executing as needed cleaning before and during production
- Contributing ideas and effort towards increasing the efficiency & quality of the production, and products (including new products development)
- With the other cheesemakers, share full responsibility for full deep clean of the production area at the end of the day / week
- Packaging and liaising with dispatch.
There will be ample opportunities to significantly expand the role as the individual gains more experience and skills and proves to have fully integrated into the team. In fact the business is growing very fast and very successfully and we are looking for someone committed to become part of our team with long term view on the business
This is a full time position 5-day per week starting very early hours of the morning (timings may vary but we will discuss and agree in advance)
We are flexible on the start date, but the sooner the better.
