UK Pension & Investment Governance - FTC

As a Barclays UK Pension & Investment Governance, you will be part of the UK Pension and Investment Governance team. This role is for a 12-month fixed term contract. You will assist the UK Retirement Fund leadership team with effective leadership, governance, and management of stakeholders across a complex matrix structure, working with internal stakeholders and external advisers. You will also aid in the oversight of the investment strategy, investment governance, and investment disclosures.

What will you be doing?
- Leading and managing investment committee project and actions while working with team members and external advisors
- Drafting and planning agendas plus horizon scanning for future agenda items for the Trustee Board
- Preparing investment committee and Board papers
- Working independently and with team members and external advisors to commission and co-ordinate advice for the investment committee and Board
- Developing working relationship with Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution strategic investment advisors, leading to effective relationship and provision of timely advice
- Forming working relationship with investment manager team to co-ordinate investment committee and Trustee Board deliverables
- Assisting on the oversight of the investment manager, including performance monitoring and compliance with the Investment Management Agreement
- Being flexible to lead, work and assist in various Trustee led projects relating to the pension scheme
What we’re looking for:
- Solid competence and background in working with occupational, trust-based pension schemes
- Experience of working with pension schemes with defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements
- Good technical knowledge and competence of investment strategy and asset classes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a background in building excellent stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Relevant professional qualifications e.g., Actuary, APMI, FIA (or equivalent), CFA
- Competence, knowledge, and application of UK pensions legislation and up to date awareness of current pension industry initiatives and developments

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
