We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join us in Le Pain Quotidien. We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means “the daily bread” in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts. At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. Our Covent garden bakery does not stop and serves tourists, locals and passers-by. We are located in the heart of the Covent Garden market. This location has a large outdoor seating area, multiple levels and a busy takeaway section.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the kitchen team in food preparation. Accountable for the bakery's cleanliness and ensuring the bakery is set up for a successful shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen team with food preparation throughout the shift, following the correct recipe and ensuring the proper use of equipment or utensils in line with Food Safety regulations
• Keep all workstations and kitchen areas clean in line with Food Safety regulations
• Communicates with retail teams to ensure full availability of items throughout the day/evening.
• Ensures communication with retail, floor and management when running low on or changing items.
• Ensure all dishes are presented correctly and at the correct temperature.
• Supports any special requests with FOH, including allergens. Always follows allergens procedures
• Ensure correct receipt of deliveries and then correct storage as per company standards, Food Safety regulations, and stock rotation rules
