Job Description

£40,157- £43,414 per annum (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits
Fixed term contract until July 2025 (secondments welcome)
Full-time role and hybrid working with at least 1 day per week in our London office (Job-share and flexible working requests are welcome)

The Health Foundation is an independent charity working to build a healthier UK.

Working age health is declining in many places, more people have dropped out of the labour market due to ill health and policy isn’t keeping pace with changes to health and how the types of work people do affects their health.

This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting new initiative to examine – and to change – these fundamental issues at the heart of our economic and social future. We are setting up a commission supported by a secretariat based in the Health Foundation working in collaboration with research partners, leading experts, employers, workers and local people affected by poor health and unequal working conditions. It will produce and commission new insights, develop consensus and generate solutions to influence policy and practice in the run up to, and in the aftermath of, the next general election.

We are seeking a well-organised, collaborative programme and policy officer with health and/or employment policy background to coordinate this complex programme for a two-year period. You will bring experience of coordinating projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, observing corporate financial and legal processes and ensuring delivery of outputs to fixed milestones.

You will be a collaborative team-player, coordinating the work of the secretariat team of four as well as liaising with wider Health Foundation colleagues and external partners. You will need to use your professional communication skills with senior stakeholders as well as public participants to ensure that diverse views are heard.

You will share our values and our passion for improving health and reducing inequalities.

To apply for this role please submit your CV and a supporting statement that answers these three screening questions. Applications without a supporting statement will not be considered.

Application deadline: 23:59 on Wednesday 24 May 2023

Interview date: Tuesday 6 June 2023

We value equality, diversity and inclusion, and welcome applications from different backgrounds. For this role, we particularly encourage applications with understanding or experience of long-term health conditions and of different working environments. We are also committed to making reasonable adjustments for candidates who have accessibility requirements.
