Job Introduction Heritage Portfolio are looking for a talented and enthusiastic
Chef to join our culinary team at the V&A Dundee. Under the guidance of our Head Chef, this role requires the candidate to assist with the production of all food for daily service as well as supporting menu preparation and delivery of our in-house events. All our food is prepared on site and made from scratch, focusing on seasonal and locally sourced produce. The menu changes on a daily basis, so there is plenty of room for creativity and personal flair.
After a refurbishment in March 2023, Tatha Bar & Kitchen at V&A Dundee changed from restaurant to café style counter service, offering a range of gourmet deli filled sandwiches and baguettes, seasonal salads, soups and hot dishes as well as a range of daily specials and toasties coming from the kitchen. Set in the most beautiful of surroundings, V&A Dundee is a cultural destination that attracts visitors from all around the UK. We are much loved by our regulars for our location and for our creative, daily changing menu.
Rate of Pay : £12.00 - £13.00 per hour dependent on experience
Hours : 30-40 per week
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Good kitchen practice and creative flair with knowledge of food preparation and ingredients

Previous experience of high-volume catering

Be at home in a fast paced, busy kitchen

Excellent levels of kitchen hygiene

Good understanding of English, both written and orally
This position is four to five days out of seven, with some evening work occasionally required. We can also offer additional opportunities to work in the wider company to support our other sites.
