Job Description

Opportunity:

An amazing opportunity is available for a Microbiology Technician to join our Christchurch Laboratory.

As Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Routine sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT)
  • Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
  • Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date at all times
  • Use aseptic technique and maintain a clean and tidy work area

This is a Permanent role working 40 hours a week and will include one weekend day. Please be advised these opportunities may require some flexibility to work overtime as the lab is functioning 7 days a week.

About you:

We would love to hear from motivated individuals with a passion for food safety and quality. Ideally you will have or be:

  • Bachelor of Science majoring Microbiology or equivalent
  • Experience in qPCR technology or completed studies in this area (advantages)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Clear communications (both written and verbal)
  • A passion for quality customer focus is essential
