JOB PURPOSE
The Dean of Students Office:
The Dean of Students Office plays an important role in the student learning experience at Warwick. We are a dynamic team, comprising of academic and professional services staff working in close partnership with each other and with colleagues across the University. We have strategic leadership of academic support, through the personal tutoring system, delivery of the institution’s Inclusive Education Model (IEM) and the Community Values Education Programme.
The Inclusive Education Model is central to building and maintaining a welcoming community where all students feel included and able to succeed. This role is intended to maximise student success amongst students from a wide range of backgrounds – particularly those at risk of non-continuation and lower than expected degree attainment.
We work closely with staff and students across the University to deliver the goals and objectives of the model, offer support where needed, and share good practice internally and externally. Amongst many others, this includes close collaboration with colleagues in departments including Marketing Communications and Insight, Social Inclusion, Widening Participation, Academic Development Centre, Education Policy and Quality and the Students’ Union.
Across our diverse student population, our goals are to ensure the following for all students:
- Inclusive teaching and learning.
- Inclusive extra-curricular opportunities and support.
- Inclusive communities and spaces.
