Trainee Area Manager,
£35,000 - £40,000 + fully expensed company car, laptop & phone.
You will be someone who likes a fast environment. Who gets up, gets on and gets things done. You keep things simple. You are good at speaking to people. You win people over, earning their trust and respect. People listen to you and take you seriously. You take responsibility for things yourself.
You'll likely be a manager with a few years' experience running a single retail or hospitality site, or a team within a larger site. Or you'll be a recent graduate with some retail or team-leading experience. If you don't have that experience but are interested in the idea of one day leading a team of up to 100 people across up to 10 busy discount supermarkets, we still want to hear from you.
Farmfoods is a family business. You will have contact with the owners and board directors who will take an interest in your performance, achievements and development.
Your attitude is the most important thing. Everything else we will teach you.
Responsibilities / role
- Achieve excellent operational standards in your shops.
- Maintain a team of hard-working, motivated shop managers & retail staff.
- Nurture good people from junior positions to become the shop and area managers of the future.
- Oversee the control of key operational costs such as payroll, stock loss and waste costs.
- Complete project work as required to support the wider regional team.
- You must be willing and able to work across all 7 days of the week including weekends (based on 5 days on 2 days off).
- You will be expected to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
