Job Description

Coleg Sir Gar & Coleg Ceredigion are looking to recruit casual supply lecturers to work across a variety of subject areas across our campuses. If you are an experienced lecturer, industry expert, or someone looking for flexible teaching hours to fit around you, we would love to hear from you.

About The Role

As a casual supply lecturer, you will have the opportunity to teach on an ad-hoc basis. The hours available may be for short term cover, long term cover, or temporary project teaching hours that could potentially offer the opportunity to become permanent, should a vacancy arise. You will join our bank of lecturers that are called upon when any teaching hours arise.

You will have an excellent opportunity to combine your exceptional skills to enable our students to understand the various modules within their course, and to progress on to the most competitive universities or achieve their desired qualifications. Whatever subject you teach, you will be making a difference in our students lives.

About You

Ideally you will have a PGCE and relevant experience of teaching within the FE and HE sector. However, if you have experience of tutoring outside of mainstream education and would like to pick up flexible hours within The College, this could be for you! If you have industry experience without a PGCE and would like to move into a teaching career, we may be able to offer you the opportunity to join us as an unqualified teacher. Alongside this, you will need to be organised, able to work under tight deadlines, possess excellent digital literacy skills, and good literacy and numeracy skills.

All teaching staff will require an enhanced DBS on the update service and to be registered with the EWC, if you do not have these, we will support you to obtain the relevant checks. For more information, or to arrange an informal conversation, please email [email protected].

Welsh Language Requirements:

Persons are welcome to apply for posts in Welsh and applications made in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English.

Our Learners

There are approximately 900 higher education learners. It also offers its provision on-line, via partnerships at community locations and in the workplace.

The College has a comprehensive and broad range of academic and vocational learning programmes. These range from pre-entry to graduate level, providing a service to the whole learning community. It offers further education, adult and community learning, higher education, work based learning and bespoke programmes and services for business development. It also provides for large numbers of 14-16 school pupils who attend the College or are taught by College staff at their schools.
