Job Description

The Solicitor Apprenticeships shall commence on 18th September 2023, specialising in one area of law. These apprenticeships are fully funded with financial support from the Government made available through the apprenticeship levy.

To be considered for a Solicitor Apprenticeship, the trainee must have a strong academic record and either have a law degree or have completed the law conversion course at 2:2 accreditation or above.

The duration of the Solicitor Apprenticeship is 2 ½ years. During this time the trainee will undertake the Level 7 Graduate Entry Solicitor Apprenticeship (part-time) as per the attached programme schedule from BPP. This programme will build on the existing knowledge and skills of the trainee to help them gain confidence using the core legal tasks that are expected in practice. In addition, they will also undertake the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) assessments.

Full details of how the Solicitor Apprenticeships are structured can be found in the Solicitor Apprenticeship Policy and Procedure. Please ensure you read this policy carefully before making an application. We also advise applicants to ensure that they fully understand how the SQE assessments are structured and the amount of studying which is involved. You can find more information about that here: https://sqe.sra.org.uk/about-sqe/what-is-the-sqe/assessment-topics
