Job Description
Proactive Publications Ltd requires a full-time Editorial Assistant for its portfolio of B2B magazines. These currently include: Inside Sustainability; Inside Marine; Inside Oil & Gas; and Inside Food & Drink.
Day-to-day activities and responsibilities include:
- Writing features on particular companies and/or industries following interviews with leading professionals in their respected field(s)
- Creating content for all titles as per the print schedules
- Sub-editing and approving content (both articles and adverts) for layout and final printing
- Editing press releases and writing news stories for print and online
- Managing social media output
- General editorial duties, including proofreading and some copy writing
The candidate:
- Ability to work quickly and accurately as part of a small team
- Demonstrable time management skills and experience of meeting deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Capacity to learn to understand trade content and concepts
- A degree-level qualification
This role would best suit a Journalism / English (or related degree) Graduate with relevant work based experience, however candidates who show a keenness and capability to progress in an editorial based role (regardless of experience or education) will also be considered.
Proactive Publications Ltd is a media business located in its own modern building in Gorleston. With staff welfare being of paramount importance to us, we offer a shorter five-day working week (Friday mornings only, no Saturdays or Sundays), staff pension, onsite parking, staff games room and recreational areas, fun days in and out of the office and a friendly working environment.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4.30pm
Friday 7:30am to 11:30pm
36 hours per week
Pay: From £19,500 per year (depending on experience)
