Building on its successful transformation work to date, Hampshire's Children’s Social Care is now focussed on developing its future model of Family Help taking account of the direction of travel within the Macalister National Care Review report published this summer.
Taking a phased and iterative approach phase 1 is now ready to launch – introducing and recruiting to a differently qualified worker role, that of the Family Practitioner. These new roles will be based within our Children’s Assessment and Safeguarding Teams (CAST) across all eight districts.
As a Family Practitioner you will case hold specific children and young people on a child in need plan where it is deemed appropriate to do so by the Team Manager taking account of the needs of the family and the skills and competence of the Family Practitioner. You will jointly undertake initial assessments of need with social worker colleagues in specific situations, develop and progress family plans as well as delivering a range of tasks and interventions; all within our strengths-based Hampshire Approach framework aimed at keeping more children safely at home.
We are looking for practitioners who can demonstrate previous experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and families, with the skills to motivate and engage families to make, and sustain, positive change.
In your role you will have regular supervision which will also ensure you are accessing the training you require to fulfil your role and to support your professional development.
