ESR Executive Search Recruits - Finance Director Edinburgh

Job Description

• At a company level - produce timely financial information for each company and within each company for each Care Home. This will involve production of certain KPI figures
• At a company level - produce a weekly and monthly "flash report" reporting on certain key information within 3 days of the month end
• At a company level - manage cash flow to optimise operations
• At a company level - liaise with Care Home Managers, if required, liaise with other Finance Department staff assisting and tutoring where necessary, liaise with both Operational Board and Executive Board attending meetings as required
• At a Group level - pull together results in an easily understandable format, manage cash flow to optimise use of resources
• At a Group level - employ treasury investment skills to achieve satisfactory returns for investment funds
• Budgeting - for all companies - prepare desktop and detailed projections for all companies, suitable so that easy ongoing comparison with actual results can be made
• Production of draft annual accounts for all companies and liaise with auditors and Board to ensure smooth production of annual accounts within agreed timescale
• Assist in strategy of the group by discussions with Operational Board and Executive Board
• Control decision making on a day to day level
• Oversea costs of care home operations
• Operate within the appropriate budgets
• Improve the image of the homes
• Future planning of the group
• Office staff employment

The Successful Applicant

• Experienced, qualified accountant at Director/Board Level
• Experience in the care industry desirable but not essential
• Ability to make strategical and operational decisions & support the board
