About us
Carroll Engineering, Inc. is a small Civil Engineering firm in San Jose, CA.
We are looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer to provide design support for site development projects from the conceptual phase through construction documents for small and large-scale Institutional, Schools K-12, College campuses, high density housing, commercial development, public works, and parks/recreation projects.
Responsibilities:
· Assimilate topographic surveys and architectural site plans into AutoCAD and Civil 3D
· Grading and drainage design
· Utility design (storm, sanitary, and water).
· Interpret campus as-builts
· Layout new parking lots
· Locate buildings
· Calculate earthworks
· Hydraulic design
· Develop storm water management plans and calculations.
· Assist colleagues whenever necessary.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
· A working knowledge of surveying and survey principles.
· Experience in Civil Site Design.
· Knowledge of ADA requirements and building code.
· Knowledge of storm water best management practices.
· Experience coordinating with Architects on schools/institutional projects is preferred.
· College Degree in related field from an accredited school in the USA.
· EIT certification required.
· PE or on track to obtain PE preferred.
· The ability to work independently, multi-task and manage multiple projects.
· Strong communication skills.
· Criminal background check may be required.
Job Type: Full-time, In-Person/Office
Salary: $35-$42 per hour, depending on experience.
