Job Description
The ibis Styles hotel at Birmingham NEC & Airport is seeking a Guest Services Assistant (GSA) to work the night shift. The role is based on a full-time, 40 hours per week contract and comes with a salary of £24,012 plus benefits. You will work 5 nights out of 7.
You’ll be responsible for welcoming and processing all of the late arrival guests to the hotel, dealing with any last-minute reservations and most likely some early morning departures too. You’ll also be responsible for the comfort of all our guests especially throughout the night and provide continuity of service for Front Office.
You may be the first person a guest encounters, so you’ll need to be friendly, professional, and confident. You’ll be the person a guest or colleague turns to if they have any concerns or complaints and you’ll be empowered to make things right. You’ll be involved in everything from serving at the bar, to cash handling and running reports, to preparing breakfast, taking reservations, ensuring our housekeeping and maintenance teams are aware of any issues so you’ll be willing and able to multi-task.
You will need to be able to communicate effectively and present a professional and friendly face for the hotel. One or more year's experience in a hotel or other service industry or experience working night shifts would be valuable.
