Health, Safety & Environment Assistant
Fixed Term Contract / Intern (12 months)
We are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Assistant with a key brief for setting and driving the environmental management system for the UK site. Guided by the UK regulations to meet the environmental standards and our own targets, it is important this role makes the complicated seem straight forward, influences practices and trains others to meet the same high standards. The role will consistently connect and work alongside many different areas of the company starting with our site Production Operation through to our Management Teams. The successful candidate will also take ownership of their part of the wider HSE function including, employee communication, on and off the job training, one to one coaching and regular administration tasks to maintain Health & Safety standards across the site in support of HSE Manager.
About You
You must be able to demonstrate
A strong attraction and understanding of environmental management within an Industrial setting.
An overview of EU Environmental initiatives and standards, particularly the thinking and actions in France.
Strong organisational skills to co-ordinate information, develop action plans and deliver results in a clear and timely manner.
Knowledge and willingness to implement & oversee sustainable safe systems of work and developing compliance through integrity based behavioural influence.
Ability to present ideas, train groups on processes and standards and influence others on Health, Safety and Environmental topics.
Computer literate, particularly on Microsoft Office, ability to analyse data.
Self-motivation and being keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn and improve.
You may be able to demonstrate
Ability to use analytics to propose plans, prepare, and prioritise actions effectively to improve awareness and respect of Environmental practices.
Ability to develop management systems, find solutions, either individually or as part of a team.
Able to see the detail and define the steps to creating a sustainable environmental management system.
Resilient and self-assured when faced with challenging people, processes, and problems.
Analytical of process and people to drive workable solutions and quality data.
Proactive approach enjoys working autonomously with initiative driving results.
Salary: £23,000 - £26,000 per annum
Benefits: Contract and Hours: Fixed Term / Intern (12 months), Full Time, working Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30, but with flexible approach depending on the business needs.
