The role

Reporting into the Head of Operations Strategy UKI, you will lead medium and large projects within the Operations Strategy team focussing on cross functional projects spanning multiple years. You will be responsible for scoping largely ambiguous projects and using structured problem solving skills to deliver strategic recommendations with significant analytical rigor. Examples of projects you may work on include; identifying and implementing ways to meaningfully reduce costs as part of a cross functional group, modeling cost/benefit analysis for new partnerships, identifying product improvement, calculating ROI opportunities and delivering a compelling supporting business case.

Your primary role is to identify and drive wide scale efficiencies & process improvements across all aspects of delivery operations. You will lead cross-functional strategic projects working with a variety of teams across UKI Operations (e.g. Planning & Performance, Partner Operations and Content & Engagement) as well as with other teams across Deliveroo (Global Operations, Product, Data Science, Strategic Initiatives, F&S etc.). All the while providing expertise and coaching to junior members of the Operations Strategy team and role modeling Deliveroo's values to the wider UKI Operations team.

You will be adept at working independently and with limited oversight to diagnose, resolve and report on areas of concern and at communicating proficiently with multiple cross functional stakeholders. You will also be a team player, sharing and cascading best practice. You will need to be highly adaptable as the project work is varied and will require you to work cross-functionally to deliver business outcomes. The role requires strong analytical and organisational skills to deliver actionable recommendations across a number of concurrent and varied projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to three to five year strategy, identifying key opportunities and challenges for UKI Operations.
  • Autonomously scope and deliver recommendations for strategic initiatives for 2023
  • Support product prioritisation process through identification of key needs across Operations and build of supporting business cases
  • Improve service levels across Ops departments by driving performance gains
  • Proactively find areas for improvement, be innovative in seeking the best solution, and execute in a timely and considered manner
  • Drive down costs for the business through thorough assessment of current processes and ways of working to identify inefficiencies
  • Build relationships across the business that allow you to remove barriers for the team and influence and collaborate where needed to produce results, prioritise effectively and avoid duplication (Product, Global Ops, Consumer, F&S etc.)
  • Support 'Chief of Staff' tasks and running of the department as required
  • Support team development through management of Peakon workstreams and onboarding of new joiners

Requirements

  • Delivery - able to autonomously scope and deliver on unstructured work. Proactively identify opportunities for impact and address them
