The Opportunity

We are seeking a Town Planner with experience of energy consenting to join the team. The successful applicant will gain the chance to further their career and have exposure to a wide range of projects across our entire portfolio of clients.

We have an increasing pipeline of opportunities to deliver planning consents for major energy schemes and this will provide challenges using your technical expertise and give you the chance to develop your own career path at a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

Using sound technical skills, you will contribute to energy consenting projects including, Town and Country Planning Applications, Electricity Act Applications and/or Marine Licence Applications. Drafting consenting strategies, engagement strategies, planning reports and coordinating the preparation of consent applications. You will utilise outstanding stakeholder management techniques building and strengthening relationships across our client base.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take responsibility of managing components of projects both on time and to budget, along with communicating plans and strategies to the rest of the team.

We are seeking experience and skills in the following;

  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and contributing key project workstreams
  • Experience of attending client meetings and of stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in contributing to consenting strategies, engagement strategies, planning reports and contributing to the preparation of consent applications
  • Contribution to the consenting of energy developments
  • Degree and/or masters in town planning, or any other relevant degree, and preferably a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
