FM Conway are currently searching for a Structural Engineer Apprentice to join our Consultancy Services division based at our head office in Sevenoaks. This is a full time, permanent role, offering full training and a clear career pathway. As part of your role, you will complete a Level 4 or Level 6 Apprenticeship, working towards a Civil Engineering degree.

The Structural Engineer Apprentice Role
As our Structural Engineer Apprentice, you will work across the full spectrum of highway structures, building structures and urban infrastructure, covering major new build works to refurbishment works of existing structures across various contracts. Your duties will include:
- Learning how to use AutoCAD to draw-up sketches provided by senior team members
- Learning how to use the Structures design guidelines
- Writing draft sections for inspection reports
- Attending site visits with senior team members to gather information to inform designs
- Progressing to being able to undertake design tasks with minimal supervision
- Attending meetings with internal and external project stakeholders
- Learning how to use and understand project programmes
- Meeting regularly with your manager, the Emerging Talent Manager and apprenticeship training provider to review your individual learning plan and targets
What we’re looking for in our Structural Engineer Apprentice
We are looking for candidates with A-Level’s ideally within maths, science, or technology-based subjects. You will have an interest in design and construction, alongside strong communication skills and the enthusiasm to learn and develop.
