Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm
Salary: £38,000-£42,000 DOE

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quoting and Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for analysing customer requirements, preparing accurate quotations, and optimising manufacturing processes to drive efficiency and quality.

The person:
- Understand and be experienced in the estimating process
- Be able to advise and support sales in the quoting process
- You will be an excellent multi-tasker and able to think on your feet
- You can demonstrate a good customer focus
- Have experience in a similar environment preferably with an engineering background
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost estimation methods
- Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Activities:
- Take sales requests, prepare the estimate and build the quote around the information.
- Liaise with the Production Engineering team for technical support to assist in the quotation.
- Liaise with external suppliers to understand their requirements.
- Liaise with material suppliers and tooling vendors.
- Work with the shopfloor staff to make sure the job can be done.
- Build effective procedures in the quote and estimating process.
- Prepare detailed quotations, including material costs, labor hours, and production timelines
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization while maintaining quality standards
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new product development projects
- Support cross-functional teams in implementing process improvements and lean manufacturing principles
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of cost estimates, pricing models, and historical data for reference and analysis
