Logistics Supervisor required. We are currently representing a reputable Transport and Distribution company based in Somerset seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join their team.
Our client supply transport, warehousing, and distribution services to multiple industries with national/regional coverage. They are seeking a professional Logistics Supervisor to act as first point of contact for the customer and drivers regarding the despatch and organisation of consignments, ensuring all queries are dealt with in an efficient and effective manner.
Logistics Supervisor – Position Overview
· Prioritise the loading of consignments from the daily manifest, ensuring correct trailer availability and type.
· Issuing the driver with correct paperwork and inputting trailer and despatch numbers on the Transport management system (TMS) as per customer’s requirements.
· To liaise with the planning department regarding unplanned work, time changes, late running loads.
· Ensuring all deliveries have been accurately debriefed, including arrival and departure times in the TMS. Creating CDR’s prior to the end of your working shift when applicable.
· Debrief of driver’s paperwork, checking all pods have been completed, identifying any uncompliant issues, and working with the driver to correct, then sign and distribute the paperwork accordingly.
· 5To monitor customer consignments daily, ensuring you follow our customer(s) process: Reporting late deliveries, time changes, Non-Conformance issues and creating and completing daily reports.
· Manage all returns for onsite. Ensuring that Sparks procedures are followed, and the correct paperwork issued.
· To act as a point of contact with the Sparks customer service team regarding any queries prior to collection, on or after the day of delivery.
Logistics Supervisor – Position Requirements
· Previous experience within a transport environment preferred
· Ability to work on your own
· Good geographical or transport knowledge advantageous
· Good interpersonal skills
· Good organisational skills
· Good telephone manner
Logistics Supervisor – Position Remuneration
· Salary £25,000 - £27,000 (Dependant on experience)
· 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 12 hour days.
· 20 days holiday
· Company pension scheme
