Hours: 32.5 hours, term time plus 3 days
Grade: 1 SCP04 (£21,189 pro rata). Actual Salary: £15,832 p.a.
St Matthew’s Primary School is seeking to employ a Special Purpose Assistant for tailored 1-1 SEND support. You will join a team committed to inclusion and expect to be deployed to where most needed in the knowledge that deployment needs to be flexible to respond to new and emerging support needs.
If you are a person who:
- Has an interest in learning about or prior experience working with/caring for young learners with EHCP funding
- Has an interest in or prior experience of working with children presenting with social, emotional, mental health needs.
- Has an interest in or prior experience of working with a range of professionals in order to prioritise the development of expressive, receptive and social communication needs.
- Will enjoy working with the child’s family and capitalising on their experiences of their child at home and nurturing mutuality so that what is working in school can equally be capitalised on at home
- Is fully committed to celebration of inclusion
- Will attend meetings where appropriate with SENDCO and external supporting agencies to review and reflect continually on provision and strategies.
- Will support 1-1 whilst equally encouraging independence as the learning journey progresses
- Will deal sensitively and swiftly when supporting around any issues involving intimate care
