Gfinity Esports is a leading site that focuses on video games of all genres. The site is looking for a talented & motivated Evergreen Editor to grow and manage the site’s evergreen features, lists, and guide's content. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating and executing content strategies, as well as a good knowledge of, but not limited to, the following titles:
- Live service games (Call of Duty, Destiny 2, Fortnite, Apex Legends, and more)
The role is a full-time freelance, remote-working position where you will work alongside the Guides Editor, Editor in Chief, and Content Strategist to evolve the current evergreen strategy and update cadence. You will be expected to create content yourself and delegate to an in-house team, leading all content maintenance work. This role requires UK working hours.
You will receive complete on-the-job training from our editorial staff and will quickly develop a comprehensive knowledge of editorial best practices and SEO.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with the editorial team to develop Gfinity’s evergreen content creation strategy
- Lead Gfinity’s evergreen and guides maintenance planning and organisation – updating and keeping evergreen content relevant
- Generate and write original evergreen content ideas
- Manage our content management/planning structure
- Performing other writing tasks as required, including creating news, features, and reviews.
- Producing error-free copy to a deadline, strictly following our SEO and style guidelines.
- Working with senior editorial staff to deliver on content strategy, perform competitor analysis, and identify traffic opportunities.
- Utilising our workflow tools effectively on a daily basis, including ClickUp.
- Performing other tasks across the brand's digital and social platforms as required.
- Other tasks as decided by senior editorial staff.
As our Evergreen Editor you have:
- Experience developing an evergreen content strategy and managing and developing writers.
- A clean, personable writing style.
- Excellent attention to detail, both when writing and performing other tasks.
- A strong and ambitious work ethic.
- The ability to collaborate with others as part of a larger team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of social media trends and the latest modern video games.
- The ability to find strong, social-focused angles for your news coverage.
