LIVE WORK INNOVATE
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing person to join our team at Salisbury Library working 30 hours per week to help provide a high-quality service to our customers.
About the role
As Library Assistant, you will help customers with queries, help them to find books and information and support them with basic IT for those using library computers and other library equipment.
You will take part in children’s activities such as 'rhyme time' and events/activities for adults, help with shelving, recommending reading choices, tidying the library, answering the phone and many more tasks are part of this role. No two days will be the same and you’ll need to be ready to deal with the unexpected!
Work pattern for this role is:
Week 1: Tuesday 09:00-19:00, Wednesday 09:00-17:00, Friday 08.30-17:00 and Saturday 08.30-17:00.
Week 2: Monday 09:00-17:00, Wednesday 09:00-16:00, Thursday 08.30-17:00 and Friday 09:00-19:00
About you
We will look to you to possess at least five GCSEs, including English at grade A-C or equivalent. Previous library experience is not essential as we will train you in all aspects of library work.
Excellent customer service skills or the ability to demonstrate you can provide them is essential as is a love of books.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 20th July 2023.
