M&E/Building Services Quantity Surveyor

We are recruiting for commercial staff with building and/or M&E backgrounds at QS/SQS/MQS levels to join our talented Commercial team. Reporting into our Commercial Manager, you will be providing building work capability and experience as we construct five Shaft Headhouses and two Portal Buildings across our C1 project.
The role
Contract administration
Efficient management of all commercial functions of the packages of work you are responsible for.
Provide commercial support to the Project Director, Commercial Director and the Commercial Team in managing the delivery of the project.
Subcontractors / Procurement
Negotiating terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers that apportion risk to those best placed to manage that risk.
Ensuring subcontractors and suppliers are managed, within the terms and conditions of subcontractors.
Reviewing, approving and ensuring payment of interim and final accounts (including final account sign-off.
Reviewing and agreeing costs to complete / forecasts.
Cost Management
Liaising and co-ordinating with production, engineering, design and procurement teams
Ensuring compliance with the commercial requirements of the conditions of contract and Works Information.
Coordination of the contract insurance requirements, management of claims and renewals.
Change management
Notification of early warnings, compensation events and submission of quotations in compliance with the conditions of contract.
Preparing, submitting and agreeing early warnings and compensation events.
Risk / Opportunities
Reviewing and advising on newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return.
Identification and implementation of mitigation measures.
People management
Effectively managing a commercial team to ensure delivery of the above items along with personal development and support or the team.
Providing support and training for site staff on commercial issues.
About you
You’ll have demonstrable experience as a QS with experience of working across the M&E or Building services arena.
A team player and influencer, you’ll have strong stakeholder engagement coupled with an ability to juggle multiple priorities to meet stringent deadlines. You’ll also have strong knowledge of NEC suite of contracts.
